Roundtable Ramblings

Greetings all you Scouter's out there!  With the information you got last month, I hope you are getting ready to do the Klondike or have a significant Winter Camping Experience.

Remember, all of the files from January, and all future roundtables, will be on the Capital District Newsletter web site; thanks Mike!

This month we are covering COMMUNICATION.  We will be talking about:

1) Communication Merit Badge (Eagle Required)

2) Signaling Means: (Morse, Semaphore, Hand Signals, American Sign Language, Jamboree Of The Air, and several other signaling means)

3) Presentations: Use and importance of  Audio Visual Techniques (PowerPoint, Posters, Audio, Flash and Web)

4) Communications:  Talking with your Scouts.  Mr. Jerry Cagen, from Eagle Academy will give a short presentation and then "open the floor" to your questions on "How do I talk with, and get through to, my Scouts?"

This month's Roundtable will surely leave you with something to think about.  Hope to see you there.

As always, the files and handouts will be available for download to your Zip drive or CD, so bring them if you have them.  Those of you that got CD's from me last month, I can continue to copy this months files to the same CD, if you bring it back  (Also, it will save you $1.00). You may also download them later from the web site.

I will begin asking Troops from the Capital District to step up to conduct our opening flag ceremony in the very near future.  It's a great way to show off your Troop's skills and get the Scouts exposed to the Roundtable and it's workings.  Let me know if you are available.

Just Keep On Scouting

Chris
