Alien: n. 1. A foreigner. 2. A person living in a country but not a citizen of it.

Ambassador: n. 1. An official of highest rank sent by a country to represent it in another country. 2. Any person sent as a representative or messenger [the U. S. ambassador to the UN].

Citizen: n. A person who is a member of a country or state either because of being born there or having been made a member by law. Citizens have certain duties to their country and are entitled to certain rights.

 Citizenship: n. The condition of being a citizen; also, the rights and duties of a citizen [Citizenship includes the right to vote and the duty to serve on a jury.]

Climate: n. 1. The average weather conditions of a place over a period of years [Arizona has a mild, dry climate, but its weather last week was stormy.] 2. A region with particular weather conditions. [They went south to a warmer climate.] 3. The general feeling or spirit of a place. [Berkeley is a town with an intellectual climate.]

 Communicate: v. 1. To pass along; transmit. 2. To make known; give or exchange information. 3. To be connected.

Communication: n. 1. The act of communicating. 2. A way or means of communicating. 3. Information, message, letter, etc. [They received a communication from their teacher.]

Constitution: n. 1. The system of basic laws or rules of a government, society, etc. A. A document in which these laws and rules are written down [The Constitution of the United States is the supreme law here.]

Consul: n. 1. A government official appointed by a country to look after its interests and help its citizens in a foreign city.

Consulate n. 1. The position and duties of a consul. 2. The office or home of a consul.

Embassy: n. 1. The building where an ambassador lives and works. 2. An ambassador together with his or her staff. 3. The work, duties, or mission of an ambassador.

Exchange n. 1 A giving of one thing in return for another; trade. 2. A giving to one another of similar things [ Our club has a gift exchange at Christmas]. 3. A place where business or trading is carried out [ a stock exchange]

Conflict: n. 1. A fight or battle. 2. A clash or sharp disagreement, as of interests or ideas.

 Economy: n. 1. The managing of money earned and spent in a home, business, country, etc. 2. A careful managing of money, materials, etc. so that there is not waste.

 Environmentalism: n. Concern for protecting the conditions of living things, as by controlling pollution and the careless use of natural resources.

Foreign: adj. 1 That is outside one's own country, region. Etc. [ a foreign land]. 2 of, from, or dealing with other countries [foreign trade; foreign languages; foreign policy]. 3 Not belonging; not a natural or usual part [conduct foreign to one's nature].

 Geography: n. 1. The natural features of a certain part of the earth. 2. The study of the surface of the earth and how it is divided into continents, countries, seas, etc. Geography also deals with the climates, plants, animal, minerals, etc. of the earth.

 Natural: adj. Produced by nature; not made by ;man.

Passport: n. 1. An official governmental document that certifies the identity and citizenship of an individual and grants him permission to travel abroad.

Resources: n. 1. A supply of something to take care of a need. [Oil is a valuable natural resource.] 2. Skill in solving problems or getting out of trouble. [It takes great resource to survive in the woods.]

Resolution: n. 1. The act of resolving something. 2. Something decided upon. 3. A formal statement by a group, giving its opinion or decision. 4. The fact of being resolute; determination. 5. The act of solving; answer or solution [The resolution of the problem.

 Security: n. 1. The condition or feeling of being safe or sure; freedom form danger, fear, doubt, etc. 2. Something that protects [Insurance is a security against loss.] 3. Something given or pledged as a guarantee [ A car may be used as security for a loan.]

Tariff: n. 1. A list of taxes on goods imported or, sometimes, on goods exported. 2. Such a tax or its rate. 3. Any list of prices or charges.

Terrorism: n. The use of force and threats to frighten people into obeying completely.

Trade: n. 1. Buying and selling commerce [Tariffs restrict trade between nations.] 2. The act of giving one thing for another; exchange [An even trade of your comic book for my football.]

Transport: v. 1. To carry from one place to another [to transport goods by train or plane.] n. 1. The act of carrying from one place to another. 2. A ship, train, airplane, etc. Used for transporting freight, soldiers, etc.

Transportation: n. 1. The act of transporting. 2. A system or business of transporting things. 3. Fare or a ticket for being transported.

Treaty: n. 1a. A formal agreement between two or more states. 1b. A document in which such an agreement is set down. 2. A contract or agreement.

Values: n. pl. Beliefs or ideals [The moral values of a nation.]

Visa: n. An official authorization appended to a passport permitting entry into and travel within a particular country or region.
